On 26 June 2008, Under the late Archbishop Dr Murerei ’s guidance, the church launched a Social Responsibility Programme. As part of the programme, the church visits Homes for the needy, Orphanages and those affected by HIV-Aids. Amongst the many homes that have been visited to date are Leamogetswe Children‘s home in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, Ethadweni Children ‘s Home in Soweto, Thohoyandou Children ‘s Home in Thohoyandou (Linpopo Province) the SOS Children Home in Mamelodi, Mabo Project in Klipgat and Kingdom Life Children ‘s homes in Saulsville, Pretoria and many more.
During the visits, church members spend the whole day playing and preparing food for the kids. They play soccer, netball, chess, karate and various other sporting codes. They also donate food parcels, clothes, blankets, toys, playing equipment for kids, etc. The Day is concluded with a sermon that is preferably led by an ordained Pastor.
This means that the UAAC walks the talk in the sense that the Word of God has to be put in practice to help resolve challenges that afflict humanity. Thus, love your neighbor as you love yourself, is not a mere cliché, but something that the people can witness being practiced.
